DOUGHERTY, CATHERINE M., 79, of Ocean View, NJ, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Maurice and Kathryn Shaner Walsh, she moved here in 1962 from Philadelphia. She graduated from West Catholic High School and was a member of St. Joseph Church in Sea Isle City.
Mrs. Dougherty was the former owner of Ocean View Plumbing Supply. She started her family and was a stay at home mom. After her kids left home, she became court administrator and treasurer for Dennis Township. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and working in her yard. She looked forward to travelling to Clearwater, Florida and Disney every year. She especially loved Elvis.
Mrs. Dougherty is survived by her three children, Kathy Brophy (Carl), Joseph Dougherty, III (Terri), and Christopher Dougherty (Maureen); her 15 grandchildren, Frankie, Jackie, Katrina, Tom, Mike, Kayla, Chris, Linda, Joseph, Carly, James, Kaitlin, Kristen, Kelsey, and Christopher; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Dougherty, Jr. and her sister, Elizabeth Murphy.
Viewing will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 4308 Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City with the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clermont. Condolences at www.radzieta.com
