DIORIO, OLIVER J. JR. 85 of Cape May, and formerly of Upper Darby, PA. died on Friday, May 24th, 2013 at the age of 85. He was born in Philadelphia, a son of the late Oliver J. Diorio Sr. and Marie (Lomenzo) Diorio. Oliver was the beloved husband of Nancy (Simpson) Diorio; father of Eleanor Daisey (and David Jansen) of Honey Brook, Pa; and Pop Pop of Allison Daisey, of Ewing. He is also survived by his step-daughter Eleanor (and Thomas) Chestnut of Cape May; two step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren who adopted him as their Pop Pop. He was preceded in death in 1996 by Coretta (Wilt) Diorio, his devoted wife of 42 years. Mr. Diorio worked for RCA in Camden for 35 years, retiring in 1988. He had a passion for watching the Phillies and the Eagles. He also enjoyed talking politics. He was a very humble man who never compromised his beliefs. He never said a bad word about anybody nor did he utter any complaints about all the afflictions that befell him or the suffering he endured during his journey from earth to heaven. He always did the right thing by his family and all his acts of kindness toward neighbors and friends will always be remembered. He was a “good man” who taught us a lot by his example, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at 11 AM in the Spilker Funeral Home, 815 Washington St., Cape May, where there will be a viewing Wednesday morning from 9 AM to 11 AM. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Pa. Info and condolences: www.spilkerfuneralhome.com
