DEVLIN, PATRICK WILLIAM, 73

DEVLIN, PATRICK WILLIAM, 73, of Erma, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. Patrick was born in Raritan Township, NJ to Edward and Dorothy Devlin on January 4, 1944. He was raised in Northeast Philadelphia, PA and most of his life, resided in Cape May County, NJ. Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Alice Lynne Pancoast, of 51 years. He is also survived by his son, Allyn P. Devlin (wife Judi) of Erma, NJ and his daughter, Tammy L. Devlin (wife Julie) of Lutherville, MD and one grandson, A.P. He leaves behind one brother, Dennis H. Devlin of Burlington, NJ, a brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and cousins, nieces, and nephews. Patrick is predeceased by his parents and his oldest brother, Edward J. Devlin. Patrick worked at Cliff Wilson & Sons as an appliance repairman for 10 years which then took him to Sears to continue his work as an appliance technician for 30 more years. Retiring in 2010, Patrick enjoyed watching television, movies, and playing games. In his earlier years, he was an avid and talented bowler in which he shared that passion with his wife. Throughout his adult life, Patrick could have been found playing golf, collecting die-cast automobiles, listening to or singing the oldies, playing with his grand dogs, or painting on a blank canvas. He also accompanied his wife to many band performances of the John Walter Community Band and the Cape May County String Band in which he was an honorary member. Pat was a contributing life member of the Erma Volunteer Fire Company and shared the camaraderie with his son, Allyn. He was a supportive, caring, loving father and his wife’s best friend. He will be missed. Friends will be received from 1:00 to 2:30 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; followed by a funeral service at 2:30 PM. Interment will be private. The family suggests donations in Pat’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053 or the Erma Volunteer Fire Company, 415 Breakwater Rd, Erma, NJ 08204.
