DENBOSKE, MICHAEL J.

DENBOSKE, MICHAEL J., 65, of Cape May Point passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Originally from Fair Lawn in Bergen County, he became a longtime resident of Cape May Point. Mike graduated from Rider College with a Bachelor’s Degree. Like his father and grandfather, Mike was proud to be a firefighter. He was a dedicated member of the Cape May Point Fire Company #1, where he was a Past President, Safety Officer and EMT. At one point, Mike briefly held the position of Mayor of Cape May Point. He worked for many years as a social worker for the State of New Jersey in Vineland and more recently in Woodbine, recently retiring at the age of 62 after many years of service. Mike was a devoted member of St. Agnes RC Church, Cape May Point and Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, Cape May where he was a lecturer. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Johanna Denboske. Mike will be dearly missed by his loving family which includes his aunt and godmother, Gloria Reilly; three cousins, Peter, Maryann and John; as well as his firefighting family and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday (May 10th) at 1:30PM in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May where friends will be received from 12:30PM ” 1:30PM.
