DANLEY, JANICE OSBORNE, 82, of Columbus, Ohio died peacefully on August 8, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Gladys Osborne and survived by husband Warren; their children Mark (Liz), Lisa, Jennifer (Trent), Cliff (Kim), and Ben; 14 grand-children and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Jack Osborne and sister Gail Bell and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Janice was born at Margaret Mace Hospital in Wildwood and raised in Cape May Court House. After marrying Warren in 1955 she became a “Navy wife” and lived in many states until returning to Cape May Court House to enjoy a career of her passion – music. During the 1960’s she wrote and directed several stage variety shows, “Ladies and Gentlemen,” featuring local residents as star performers. Concurrently she directed the Glee Club and taught music appreciation at Middle Township High School from 1963 to 1973. Along with band director Ed Bischoff she directed the high school musicals Finians Rainbow, South Pacific, and The Music Man. Warrens military service then took them to Columbus, Ohio where she coached many aspiring musicians and vocalists. The fond memories and friendships of her students lasted her lifetime. After retiring from teaching she remained active with her many hobbies, including dollhouse miniatures, translating books to braille, water colors, knitting and needlework, and crossword puzzles. Her greatest hobby was enjoying her generations of family. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Kobacker House (Hospice) of Columbus, Ohio, or any chapter of Habitat for Humanity. The family welcomes sentiments which can be posted on-line at www.schoedinger.com.
