CRUZ, CARL, age 47, of Villas passed away Friday, February 14, 2014. Carl was born April 29, 1966 in Warwick, RI; formerly lived in Salem, NJ; and has been a Cape May area resident for 30 years. He is the son of Carmelo and Lady G (Ruiz) Cruz. Carl was a self employed contractor and owner of Cruz Enterprises of Villas, NJ. He was a social member of the Cape May VFW and enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle. Carl is survived by his parents and his four children; Christopher, Desteny, Athena, & Summer Cruz all of Villas, NJ. Also surviving are his sisters: Shirley Cruz of Cape May County; Sharon Landron of Ft Lauderdale, FL; Lady Cruz-Good of Yorktown, VA; Shila Treadwell of Norfolk, VA; three grandchildren: Caden Britton, David Collins, & Weslie Stone; along with many nieces & nephews. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery, 1056 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ 08204. The family suggests donations to the Education Trust Fund of Summer Lynn Cruz.
