CLYDESDALE, ROBERT THOMAS, age 75, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Born in Carney’s Point NJ on October 23rd, 1942. He moved to Cape May with his parents and siblings where he attended Cape May High School, and continued on to serve in the United States Marines Corps and proudly served his country until being honorably discharged in 1967. Moving back to his hometown of Cape May, he established his own repair shop, where he fixed anything from small cars, to heavy equipment. Throughout his years in business, known to so many as Clydesdale’s Auto Repair, he established many life long friends and relationships, where he enjoyed many happy hours at ‘The Shop’ Throughout his lifetime, he was an avid fisherman, hunter and very much enjoyed gardening. He was the proud owner of several antique Corvettes, hotrods, and numerous toys. Bob was a good family man and had a heart of gold, beneath his rough and tough exterior. He was a very smart man, who often gave good wisdom and advice to those who sought it. Robert was predeceased by his parents; Thomas H. and Alice R. Clydesdale and his best friend and brother James D. Clydesdale, and leaves behind to forever cherish and miss him, his brother Thomas R. Clydesdale, children; Robert J. (Krystl), Bonnie (Larry), Tara (Mike), and Amy (John). His grandchildren; Kara, Ryan, Finn, Elliot, Adrian, and Fiona. His nephew TJ, and his nieces Allison (Keith, Kristi) and Erica. Interment will be private for the family, with a memorial service at a later date.
