CLEAVE, RODNEY ( “Rod”), age 66, of North Cape May passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at his home. Rodney was born October 18, 1950 in Exeter, England; formerly lived in Philadelphia, PA; and has been a Cape May area resident for 10 years. He is the son of the late Ronald and the late Peggy (Norris) Cleave. Rod served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart. He was employed by the Boilermaker’s Local #13, Newportville, PA as a Boilermaker. Rod was formerly a self-employed roofer. He enjoyed fishing & hunting, playing cards at the Knights of Columbus in Erma, and watching football & hockey. He was a member of the Moose Club and was a former member of the Sunset Beach Sportsman’s Club. Rod is survived by three daughters: Jacquelyn A. Cox of Royersford, PA; Ashley Cleave of Galloway, NJ and Danielle Cleave of Davenport, FL. Also surviving are his former wife and mother of his children: Patricia Maggio; his brother: John (Carole) Cleave; two grandchildren: Steven Cox & Elizabeth Cox; 2 nieces and one nephew. There will be a memorial service at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, N Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 11:00 to 12:00.
