CIALLELLA, ANNE (DeFrank), of

CIALLELLA, ANNE (DeFrank), of Fishing Creek, passed away suddenly Saturday, July 1st. She was born and raised in Chester, Pennsylvania and attended Franklin School and Chester High School. She primarily lived in Chester and would spend summers here at the Jersey Shore for many years until 1971 when North Cape May became her permanent home. She worked as a waitress in many area restaurants including The Wildwood Country Club, The Golden Inn, Whaler’s Cove, Two Mile Inn, Henny’s and The Country House. She stopped waitressing and became a desk clerk in Wildwood Crest in the early 1990’s. Her retired years were spent taking many trips which she very much enjoyed, but Anne’s biggest joy in life was cooking for her family and what a cook she was! Nothing made her happier than seeing her family gathered around her table. She was a very caring and considerate person and her family meant more to her than anything in the world. She always put everyone else first and nothing was too much trouble for her. Her sudden passing has left an enormous hole in the hearts of those who loved her.
Surviving is her husband, Anthony Ciallella, Son, James Hetherington and wife Robin of North Cape May, Daughter, Janice Ciallella and husband James Koch, of Cape May Court House, four grandchildren; Amy Hetherington, Jason Hetherington, Josiah Hetherington and James Anthony Koch and great grandson, Gabriel Hetherington. Also surviving are sisters; Mary Dziekan of Wilmington, Delaware, Jill Duffy of Wallingford, Pennsylvania, Lily Bromall of Villas, New Jersey and half-sister Rosalie Bennett of Scottsdale, Arizona. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph DeFrank and Mary DeFrank Vingi, Stepfather Joseph Vingi, first husband Edward Hetherington and brother, Joseph DeFrank.
Services will be held at Evoy’s Funeral Home located at 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, New Jersey Monday, July 10th. A viewing will be 10:00 – 11:00 with a service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne’s memory to her favorite charity; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at www.stjude.org.
