CARROLL, THOMAS JR.

CARROLL, THOMAS JR., 93, of Cape May Court House, NJ, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Crest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Thomas and Elsie Hoffman Carroll, Sr., he moved here 1949 after living in Pennsauken and Philadelphia. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Tom worked as a Motor Vehicle Examiner for the NJDMV. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cape May Court House where he served as past Head Usher and an active member on many offices of the church. When staying in Florida, he was a member of the First Methodist Church of Boynton Beach. He was a life member of the Middle Township Fire Department and of the VFW. He also served as Deputy District Warden for the NJ Forest Fire Service and past District Commissioner of Boy Scout Troop 65 of Cape May Court House. Tom is survived by his wife of 65 years, Miriam; his sons, Thomas III (Ann) of South Seaville and Gregory (Jolyn) of Dale City, VA; his daughters, Miriam “Mimi” (late Keith) Seaman of Cape May Court House, and Judi (Brian) Hamilton of Cape May Court House; his grandchildren, Sean (Stacey), Emily, Alissa (Patrick), Thomas (Gina), and Keirsten; and his great grandchildren, Wesley Thomas, Jane Ellis, and Sophie. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 12:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church, 1 Church Street, Cape May Court House. Interment at the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery will be private.
