BRODIE, BETTY M., – 96, of North Cape May, NJ, was called to her heavenly home May 26, 2017. She was born on November 9th 1920 to her beloved mother Martha Minnick. She grew up in her hometown of Mount Carmel, PA and graduated from high school in 1938.
Betty worked for Bell Telephone Company in Philadelphia for twelve years. After her successful career, she fell in love with the jersey beaches and made the journey to becoming a local in the 1970’s. When she wasn’t working at the oil company, Betty could often be found down by the harbor with her best friend Mary Cain and loyal companion Candi, watching the ferry come and go.
An avid church goer, she found a home with her fellow congregates at Seashore Community Church. It is there where she found her god given talent and passion. Surrounded by the children at the church Learning Center she did God’s works there for over fifteen years. She worked up until her retirement at age 92. She was a part of the SAM GROUP (Senior Adult Ministry).
She is preceded by her mother, best friends Charlotte and Joseph Thompson, and Mary Cain. She leaves behind her loving church family, caregivers Jean and Joan Distefano, and cherished friends David and Jennifer Macomber, Almond Weech, and Theresa Reed.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ. Interment is private.
