BRADY, JOHN JOSEPH, Jr. (“Jack”), 85, of Avalon, NJ passed away peacefully April 1, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Becky); sons, Michael (Maria) Brady, and Robert (Meghan) Brady; daughters, Janine (Joseph) Piscopiello, and Kelly Brady; grandsons, Michael Piscopiello, Matthew Piscopiello, Daniel Brady; granddaughters, Briana Piscopiello, Allison Brady, and Emily Murphy; along with many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, John Joseph (Jack) Brady III. Jack rowed varsity crew at LaSalle University and in his senior year, his team won the Dad Vail Regatta. After college, Jack served stateside during the Korean War. In the 1950s, Jack was a lieutenant for the Avalon lifeguards and worked as a bartender at the Princeton. Jack was a longtime resident of Delaware County and worked at the Newtown Squire for many years. Jack started the St. Anastasia School CYO Football Program in 1966 and coached there until 1976. He then was a football coach at Cardinal O’Hara High School from 1976 – 1981. In 1981, Jack and Becky moved to Avalon and opened Jack Brady’s Hoagie Dock and Deli, Home of the Humongous Hoagies in 1982. For the last 35 plus years, Jack was an active member of the business community and enjoyed the beach life. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and talking sports, especially football. Visitation will be between 1:00pm – 1:30pm with a prayer service immediately following at 1:30pm.
