BONNET, ROBERT LOCKWOOD

BONNET, ROBERT LOCKWOOD, age 76, died suddenly entering church on Sunday while attending a Christmas service with his family. Bob was a beloved 8th grade science teacher for thirty one years in the Dennis Township Schools. Bob earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Newark State Teachers College and his Master’s Degree from Rowan University in Environmental Education. He had a passion to learn and to teach and authored 16 science books which were published throughout the world in multiple languages. All who knew him, family and friends, knew him to be a man of absolute integrity, representing truth, love and righteousness. He served his community throughout his life with a generous heart, selflessly as a volunteer firefighter, as a Youth Conservation Corps Director in Belleplain State Forest, and served on the Dennis Township School Board and Zoning Boards. None will forget his great sense of humor, his keen intellect, his love of family, students, colleagues and friends. He loved all music, sang in multiple barbershop groups, and was highly competitive in chess, bridge, backgammon and all games. The world is a far greater place because of the life he lived and everyone who knew him is richer by far. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Shannon, his soul mate, who was the love of his life for 53 years which he said flew by in the blink of an eye, his son, Robert and his wife Susan, his daughter Marjorie and her husband, Ethan, and his grandchildren Carly, Kaitlyn, Rachel, Martin and Lily who he was so proud of and loved so dearly.
