BLOCKER, DIANETTA D. 83 – of Wildwood, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014. She was born in Wadley, GA to the late Charles and Anna Washington Blocker. She retired as a teacher from the Jersey City Board of Education after 33 years of teaching. After retirement, she worked at various hotels and Laundromats. She was a member of the College Women Inc. in Jersey City, the NEA, NJEA, and JCEA, the United Episcopal Women, and the NAACP. She was active as a Girl Scout Leader and Brownie Troop and served on the Vestry at the Church of Incarnation. She served in the soup kitchen at Saint Simeon’s by the Sea and also made cakes for the cake sales there. Ms. Blocker is survived by her sisters, Beatrice Freeman of Atlanta, GA, Florence Washington of Wadley, GA, and Gwendolyn Grace Evans of Brooklyn, NY; her godchildren, Terri Brewer, Donald D. Howard, Jr., Deneidra Mills, Dianetta Bryant, Norris Sapp, and Deirdre Carrington; other nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as her dear friend and caregiver, Evelyn McClurkin; her best friend, Mary M. Howard; and her friend Wilhelmenia Brant. Viewing will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Simeon’s by-the-Sea Church, 2502 Central Avenue, North Wildwood, NJ 08260. Interment will be in Mt.
