BLAY, JOHN E., age 80, died peacefully April 13, 2017 in Scottsdale, AZ. John was born January 8, 1937 (November 8, 1936) in Camaguey, Cuba. He is the son of the late John (Juan) and the late Ana (Morales) Blay. After settling in Philadelphia, he graduated from Catholic High School, La Salle University and Temple Universitys James E Beasley School of Law. He served for 30 years as Legal Counsel for Mobil Oil Corporation. After retiring he served as an advocate for the immigrant community. Mr. Blay enjoyed creating works of art as much as he enjoyed a legal battle. John was predeceased by his first wife Regina (Jean) Blay (nee Hallermeier). He is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Marie Blay (nee ODonnell); son J. Christopher of Brooklyn, NY; daughter Jennifer Ashley (nee Blay) of Telford, PA; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM April 29, 2017 at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, Washington St, Cape May, NJ 08204. Inurnment will follow at St Marys Cemetery, 1056 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ 08204
