BENNETER, ALOISIA (nee Machalitzky) NISTOK- MORRISON, of Cape May, died peacefully in her sleep, as was her wish, early on Saturday, March 8, 2014, just two months shy of her 90th birthday. Born in Zwiesel, Bavaria, Germany, on May 20, 1924, “Luisa” survived the rise and fall of the Nazi regime and left her homeland and family in 1954 to marry Peter Nistok, a Sgt. Major in the U.S. Army, to proudly become a naturalized American citizen. She lived the next 26 years in South Jersey enjoying raising her family, hosting parties for her many friends and neighbors, visiting her own family and relatives abroad, and, sadly, surviving the death of both Peter and her second husband, Walter Morrison. She is presently survived by her 3rd husband, Kuno Benneter, with whom she resided as a Landed Immigrant Canadian citizen until just last year when she came “home” to Cape May to live out her last year close to her two beloved daughters (Carol Matthews of Cape May and Heidi Franz of Medford) who cannot express how grateful they are to have had this precious time with her. Luisa loved life’s simple pleasures: a good game of Scrabble with her grandchildren, an Italian hoagie on a Friday night, a cold beer on a hot summer’s day, the cardinals feeding on sunflower seeds in the snow, petting her “grand-dogs” while singing old German lullabies. She even enjoyed her last day on this earth, celebrating in her hospital room with her daughters and their respective family members (Jim, Tony, and Desiree Matthews of Cape May, and Patrick and Conor Franz of Medford). A private ceremony is planned. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Luisa to: Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah 84741.
