BACKLEY, EVELYN C., age 61, of Cape May died Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the home of her son James. She was born in Philadelphia and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace Loveland McCarthy. Evelyn was a longtime resident of Cape May. Survived by a daughter, Summer Backley of Cape May, sons, James Hawthorne and wife Debbie, Joseph Hawthorne, and wife Joanna, grandchildren James, Ryan, Ashley, Jacob, and Hannah Hawthorne, great granddaughter Khloe Carter all of Pennsville. Predeceased by a brother Joseph McCarthy. A memorial service will held at 11:00 AM Friday from the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., North Cape May, NJ where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will be private.
