Austin, John T., 78, of Cape May passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010. Born in Phila., PA, John was a resident of Juniata Park, PA before moving to the Cape May area in 1974. He was employed by the Schmidts Brewery Co. in Philadelphia for 25 years before retiring. While in Cape May, he worked for approximately 10 years in the maintenance department for Our Lady Star of the Sea School. John was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Cape May. He has been a member of A.A. for the past 39 years. John had a truly unique sense of humor that was all his own. He is predeceased by his wife Frances A. Austin (2001) and his brother, Joseph. John will be sadly missed by his family which includes his three sons, Shawn (and Dawn) Austin of Cape May, David Austin of Montana and John (and Lynn) Austin of Rochester, MN; two daughters, Susan (and Lou) Frankel of Atlantic City and Barbara Austin of Cape Cod, Mass.; two brothers, Robert (and Peggy) Austin and Steven Austin; one sister, Mary (and Bill) McDermott. Also survived by seven grandchildren. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday (Sept. 7th) at 9:30am in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May where friends will be received from 9:00am to 9:30am.
