Cleatus M. Ashcroft , age 73, of N. Cape May passed away on Saturday April 15, 2023 at the Cape Reg. Medical Center after a valiant battle with double pneumonia. Cleatus was born it St. Louis MO and was a Cape May area resident most of her life. She attended Our Lady Star of the Sea School and St. Raymond’s School and graduated from Wildwood Catholic. Cleatus had worked for ACME Markets for over 35 years. She was well known for her love of cooking and baking and mostly for her chocolate chip cookies.
She was preceded in death by the “Love of Her Life”, Gene Rinebold. Cleatus is survived by her loving daughters; Charmaine Scheid, Bobbie Scheid (Bill) and Chantel Laud (David); siblings; Edwina Meade, Rainalda Ashcroft (Mickey) and Eldonna Ashcroft (Harry). She also leaves her grandchildren; Corey, Britney, Ciarra, Kemlyn and Mark; great-grandchildren, Lily, Shiloh, Ava and Luca.
