ALIOTO, SAMUEL P. “Sam” – 86, passed away December 13, 2016. Born July 3, 1930 to Mary and Frank Alioto in Wildwood, NJ. Formerly of Port St. Lucie, FL and Camarillo, CA. Sam is survived by his sister, Betty Rankin; nephew, Donovan (and wife, Bobbi); great niece, Audrey and many cousins of Wildwood. He attended Wildwood High School, Class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Army in Alaska during the Korean War. Sam lived in Camarillo, CA for most of his life, owning Italian Markets and working in the food and restaurant industry. He returned home to Wildwood in his later years, spending summers working at the Commander Motel in Wildwood Crest and his winters in Port St. Lucie, FL. His final years were spent year round in Florida. He enjoyed his days of sailing both on the east and west coasts with friends and family, reminiscing about his Italian market in Camarillo, CA and all his celebrity clients. Sam’s Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Wildwood on Wednesday (June 28th) at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cape May.
