AVALON – The following events will be hosted by the Avalon Free Public Library during the month of November.
Mondays, Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30
Knitting
3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Meet and share knitting techniques. All levels of knitters are welcome, from beginner to advanced.
Nov. 3
Art Workshop- Felted Garden Gnomes
9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
In this class, participants will create a felted garden gnome using the wet felting techniques of sculpting wool roving (long bundles of sheep’s wool fibers) in hot water and soap to create a basic gnome shape. Then using the dry needle felting technique, participants will adorn their gnomes with faces, beards and clothing. This is a Level 2 class. Participants must have previous felting experience. Feature Film- Mr. Holmes
An aged, retired Sherlock Holmes looks back on his life, and grapples with an unsolved case involving a beautiful woman. Stars: Ian McKellen, Laura Linney, Hiroyuki Sanada. Rated PG for thematic elements, some disturbing images and incidental smoking.
