NJ Hall of Fame Mobile Museum Comes to Sunset Beach

By Press Release

CAPE MAY – The New Jersey Hall of Fame Mobile Museum, the first ever in the nation, continues its summer road trip, making a two day visit to Lower Township’s famed Sunset Beach on Aug. 13 and 14, and will be open for free the general public to experience and enjoy.
The New Jersey Hall of Fame (NJHOF) was created to honor citizens who have made invaluable contributions to society and the world beyond. With a new class inducted every year since 2008, the Hall of Fame, now totaling over 70 inductees, reinforces the message to the children of New Jersey that they can and should strive for excellence in any endeavor of their choosing.
Designed by celebrated architect and NJHOF inductee Michael Graves, and renowned museum exhibition designer, Ralph Appelbaum Associates, the Mobile Museum offers a dramatic multimedia exhibition created around the theme – “Make a Difference.” Through images, artifacts, film, and interactive elements, visitors can explore the ways that New Jersey Hall of Fame inductees have changed, often against overwhelming odds, the state and the world: as innovators, as leaders, and as voices for the voiceless. Visitors will also be invited to consider how they, too, can make a difference in our world.
Longtime owner of Sunset Beach Gift Shops, Larry Hume, commented on the upcoming event, “Our staff and family at Sunset Beach thank the NJ Hall of Fame Board members for their part in helping to educate and inspire the citizens of great state, especially our young people, with this travelling museum. We are grateful to our Deputy Mayor Norris Clark for his help ensuring that Cape May County, in particular Lower Township, will benefit as one of the destinations for the museum’s display.”
Hume continued, “For decades, Sunset Beach itself has been a great destination point for Jersey Shore visitors. Trip Advisor even voted us Travelers Choice Awards 2013 Top 25 Beach’s in America. I especially want to encourage all families to take advantage of this unique opportunity and visit Sunset Beach on August 13 and 14, to learn a little more about our great state and the great contributions our citizens have and continue to make to our nation.”
