New Construction Planned to Enhance Bayside Experience

By Press Release

WILDWOOD — This city’s spectacular sunsets may become even more perfect with the planned rehabilitation of a bulkhead on Susquehanna Avenue. The project is being planned as one of the first steps in Wildwood’s plans to beautify its bayside. The bulkhead runs from Cedar to Lincoln avenues and is a favorite spot for local fishermen and crabbers.
The city is in the planning and design phase to enhance the worn out wooden bulkhead and its surrounding area with a new concrete one as well as the rehabilitation of other infrastructure.
“Many people sit there and enjoy looking at the water and watching the sunsets.” said Mayor Ernie Troiano. “The area has been in need of revitalization for some time.”
According to the mayor, the city had its sight set on rehabilitating the area for several years.
“It’s been on our radar for a long time,” said the mayor. “We’ve talked about incorporating new curbing, sidewalks, seating and a concrete bulkhead and we’re finally in a position to move ahead with the project.”
