Municipal Employees and Volunteers Get a Big “Thank You”

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY – On Oct. 28, Sea Isle City Mayor Leonard Desiderio and his administrative department heads hosted a breakfast gathering for Sea Isle’s municipal employees as well as the resort’s volunteer ambulance corps and volunteer fire department. The breakfast, which coincided with the one-year anniversary of Super Storm Sandy, served as a “thank you” for the hard work that was completed prior to Sandy’s arrival – and for the tremendous clean-up effort that followed in the storm’s wake.
According to Mayor Desiderio, without the town’s devoted employees and volunteer first-responders, Sea Isle City would have needed much more time to recover from Super Storm Sandy – and the resort would not have been ready for the 2013 summer season.
“We want our City’s employees and our fire department and ambulance corps volunteers to know that their efforts were truly appreciated,” said Mayor Desiderio prior to the breakfast. “The cooperation we saw before, during and after Sandy was amazing – and it helped us recover from the storm in record time.”
“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” the mayor said to those in attendance during the breakfast. “And our thanks also go to your families, because we know you spent a lot of time away from home after the storm – and we appreciate it!”
Over sixty municipal employees attended the breakfast, which was paid for by the mayor, the Business Administrator, and each of the City’s department heads.
