Middle Township High School Alumni Association Presented Scholarships to Two Graduating Seniors

COURT HOUSE — The Middle Township High School Alumni Association presented scholarships to two graduating seniors at their 27th Annual Dinner held June 2 at the Avalon Links Restaurant. Honored were Anika Buchanan who plans to attend Pace University to study Acting and Hannah Farrow who plans to attend Fairleigh Dickinson and major in Forensic Psychology. Each were awarded $1,000.
According to the scholarship committee chair and Trustees, Leigh Ann “Holmes” Downie, “all of the applicants were highly qualified which always makes the decision difficult.” Downie added that the committed is pleased with the choices.”
Committee member and Past President, Jeanette “Letts” McCarty said, “These kids deserve it and we wish it could be a greater amount.”
The association is a non-profit organization and always in search of sources of funding for these awards.
Treasurer and Past President Rick Rixey said, “We are greatly appreciative of the MTHS Class of 2005 and the Multi-Class Reunion Committee for their contributions as they sponsored each of the awards this year. This is the type of generosity we seek.”
President Leatrice Westcott added, “the future of our association and the future of our graduates depends on contributions we receive so please give if you are able.”
