COURT HOUSE — Although the national 2013 Miss America Pageant has yet to take place in Sept., the Performing Arts Center of Middle Township has already provided three preliminary winners in contests leading toward the 2014 event in Atlantic City. And there’s more to come.
In competitions held in Aug. at The PAC Cierra Kaler-Jones of Galloway, Brenna Weick of Mantua and Olivia Michael of Tenafly already have won spots in next year’s Miss New Jersey Pageant. Three more winners will be selected in additional preliminary contests at The PAC on Sept. 21.
Kaler-Jones won the title of Miss Coastal Shore and performed a lyrical dance during the competition. Her platform was empowering today’s youth through arts education. Weick, Miss Seashore Line, presented a dance and her platform was keep calm and volunteer on. Michael, Miss Cape Shores, played the piano and her platform was arts for everyone.
The upcoming contests will crown winners for Miss Atlantic Shore, Miss Eastern Shore and Miss South Shore Area. The Performing Arts Center has been a lucky charm for contestants. Many have finished high in the New Jersey competition and Alyssa Sulilvan, a student at Middle Township High School, has gone on to become Miss Outstanding Teen of New Jersey and is currently competing for the national title in Orlando, Fla.
