When the 26th annual World Series of Birding (WSOB), hosted by the New Jersey Audubon Society, gathers in Cape May County on May 9, The Marshketeers from the Wetlands Institute will join birders from around the world to search for birds that migrate through this area every spring.
Just like the postal service, The Marshketeers will compete through wind and rain, mud and sand, day and night to identify as many birds as possible in this 24-hour period.
All proceeds from WSOB support conservation causes to focus attention on the habitat needs of migrating birds.
Support The Marshketeers with a specific pledge per-bird species identified that can be mailed in after the results are tallied for this year.
A contribution of any amount sent to the Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd., Stone Harbor, NJ 08247 or an additional pledge based on whether this year’s bonus bird—the yellow-crowned night heron—is found.
For more information call the Wetlands Institute at 609-368-1211.
