LOWER TOWNSHIP – Mark your calendars for the Lower Township Rotary Club’s annual Christmas Parade Dec. 10 at 6 p.m.
A host of floats, bands, community groups and brightly decorated fire trucks will step off from the starting point at Bayshore and Breakwater roads and head south on Bayshore Road to the ending point at Rosehill Parkway.
This year, hometown hero Matt Szczur of the World Series championship team Chicago Cubs, will act as the parade’s grand marshal. Szczur, a Lower Township resident and alumni of Lower Cape May Regional High School, will be aboard the Optimist Club float with members of the Lower Township Council. A few lucky children along the parade route may even get the chance to take home an autographed baseball by Szczur.
The parade is celebrating 36 years of marching down Bayshore Road and is a chance for the community to come together in a fun and festive way.
It is a continued goal for the Lower Township Rotary to grow the size of the parade and get more community or businesses signed up to participate in what has become a long-standing valued tradition in Lower Township
There is no fee to sign up to be in the parade and it is open to families, individuals, community groups, churches, bands, businesses to participate.
For parade applications, call 609-827- 8771 or email LTRotaryClub@gmail.com.
