VILLAS – The Knights of Columbus, local council 3546, raised over $2,500 for kids and families in need during their second annual Rock for Kids Music Festival on June 14.
“We couldn’t have done it without the community’s support,” noted Dan Gilliam, the club’s deputy grand knight.
The music festival featured local bands, food and other entertainment for families. Gilliam said that the first music festival brought in $1,800 and plans are already underway to raise the bar next year to surpass that $2,500 mark.
Gilliam said the money raised goes to Catholic Social Services, whose local office is in Rio Grande, and area food banks.
“What a great day of musicians and volunteers bonding together to raise money and awareness for the needy children of Lower Township,” said Councilman Erik Simonsen, who also performed at the event.
