DENNIS TOWNSHIP – Amber, 10, and Allie, 8, Robson wanted to start a donation drive to help local animals in the area. When their aunt Patsy mentioned that Steve Serwatka from the New Jersey Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Dennis Township was in need of donations to help keep the lights on and care for the many animals at the rehab, Amber and Allie decided that they would start a collection.
They collected various rags, towels, sheets, and even a large fish tank. During the summer, they also sold canna lilies on the lawn of their parents’ business.
With the money they made, the girls bought cleaning supplies and several large food bags for the many different animals at the rehab. The owners at Smeltzer & Sons gave the girls a large discount and threw in some extra items to help.
The girls donated a van load of supplies Nov. 12 and also took a tour of the rehab.
