BUENA VISTA TOWNSHIP – Madison Bloom, granddaughter of Andrew and Carole Bloom, has been selected as a state finalist in the National American Miss New Jersey Pageant.
Miss Bloom, 9, is entering the fourth grade in September. Her activities include softball, dance, street hockey, cheerleading and archery. She recently participated in the walk for ALS and her team raised several thousand dollars. Miss Bloom is hoping to be an advocate for the ALS Foundation one day. On June 27, 2016 she was able to spread awareness about this disease at the township meeting where she was recognized by the mayor for all of her achievements.
The pageant will be held August 12 and 13 in New Brunswick, N.J.
Contestants will compete in four overall categories: formal wear, personal introduction, interview and community service project. The winner will receive $1,000 and transportation to compete in the national pageant held in California at Disneyland in November.
She has set up a go fund me account to help with the cost of entry fees, wardrobe and lodging. If you’d like to help please go to: gofundme.com/28w2gcb4.
