COURT HOUSE – Cape May County 4-H will participate this spring in the New Jersey 4-H Healthy Living Committee’s statewide event to mark the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service in 2016.
4-H will partner with the Cape May National Wildlife Refuge for the Get Moving, Get Healthy 4-H Fun and Fitness Days at New Jersey’s National Parks. The public is invited to the statewide celebration that will kick off April 17 at the Cape May National Refuge Visitor’s Center, Two Mile Beach Unit, Ocean Drive, Wildwood Crest, New Jersey.
Join the fun with 4-H by connecting with nature and enjoying a healthy living family day from 2 to 4 p.m. at the park. Hikers and birders are invited to come to the refuge where 4-H will participate in guided tours of the Wildlife Refuge, which has been designated as one of the top 10 spots in North America for birding. There are four foot trails to enjoy: Songbird, Woodcock, Cedar Swamp, and the Marsh and Dune Trail. This area has been named the best place on the East Coast to view migrating birds, and it is also great for bird photography.
The 4-H celebration of National Parks will continue this summer in central New Jersey at Gateway National Recreation Area and in the fall, in the north, at Delaware Water Gap.
