To The Editor,
My name is Kimberly D. Krauss and I am running for a seat on the Middle Township Board of Education this Nov. 6. As a parent and taxpayer of Middle Township, I am excited by the opportunity to not only serve and represent the concerns of parents and residents of our community, but also to assist the needs of the students and School District.
As a lifelong resident of Middle Township, I have served the taxpayers of this town for the last 17 years as the Township Municipal Clerk and Deputy Administrator. As a product of the Middle Township school system (Class of ‘98), I am forever grateful for the investment the citizens of Middle Township have made in public education. Now that I have two beautiful daughters of my own in the school district, I have a vested interest in making sure we continue to explore new and creative ways to improve our education system.
I am running for School Board because I believe in the impact of education and the ideals of service. It is my belief that a School Board must be responsive to all parents, students, staff and the community at large by encouraging an open dialog. A School Board member is a trustee of the community and the bridge between the school district and the members of the public.
My efforts as a School Board member would center on serving all of the children in the school district. We are a diverse community and have to celebrate this diversity. All stakeholders – parents, teachers, Board members, administration, as well as the students – must be partners in this endeavor if we are to be successful.
A key issue for School Board is to create a long-term vision by mapping a course that provides the necessary tools and opportunities students need to successfully reach their potential. The School Board is responsible for establishing and maintaining a structure that supports this vision by empowering the staff and providing leadership. I strongly believe that we have tremendous teachers and staff working with our children throughout the school district. The School Board’s efforts must continue to focus on enhancing and enriching the curriculum to continue to elevate the education our children deserve.
The School Board sets the goals and objectives for the school district and holds the district accountable for the results. One School Board member cannot do the job alone, and that is why this Nov. 6 I am asking for your vote. Together we can ensure our children succeed!
I thank you for your support and look forward to serving you as a Middle Township School Board member.
