AVALON — Do you doodle? Do your doodles need work? Do you like to sketch and draw? Would you like to know more about how artists achieve their visions? Then come to the July 28 meeting of the Avalon Civic Club and learn “how to” from artist and art instructor John Stickley. And bring the kids.
A painter himself, Mr. Stickley has also been a visual arts teacher at the Great Valley School District for many years where he has taught middle school students with great success. On the “Rate My Teacher” website, the most common word used to describe him is “awesome,” and he is more than once referred to as “the best art teacher EVER.” He is also, according to his students, “cool.”
Mr. Stickley will share some of the tricks of his trade with a hands-on presentation which will be fun for young and old alike.
The July Civic Club meeting will begin at 12:30 at the Avalon Community Center. This is the club’s regular summer “kid-friendly” meeting and children are welcome with an adult. Refreshments will be served.
The Avalon Civic Club is the oldest service organization in the borough and has been in operation for seventy-five years. For more information, call 368-6371.
