Jersey Shore Pops Conducts Local Talent Contest

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – The Jersey Shore Pops (JSP) is currently conducting a local contest aimed at discovering young talent, including singers, musicians, and dancers.
The winners of the contest – four in all – will appear with Linda Gentille and the Jersey Shore Pops at the orchestra’s upcoming Fantasia Christmas concert, which will be held at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center in Cape May County Dec. 16 at 3:00 p.m.
To be eligible, contestants must be amateur performers between the ages of 12 and 17, and produce a YouTube video (three minutes or less) highlighting their musical skills. Only solo entrants will be considered, i.e., no groups.
The Talent Contest is in the tradition of the Jersey Shore Pops, which favors the hiring of New Jersey musicians and the promotion of New Jersey performers.
To enter the Talent Contest, aspiring performers should visit the contest web page at https://www.jerseyshorepops.org/contest/, and submit their entry no later than Oct. 15.
All submissions will be evaluated by a panel that includes JSP Music Director Linda Gentille and select members of the JSP orchestra and staff. The decisions of the panel will be final, with the winners being notified on or around Nov. 1.
To all who apply, good luck. The Jersey Shore Pops supports your commitment to the advancement of the arts in New Jersey.
