MAYS LANDING — Are you unemployed and looking for a career in the gas industry? Atlantic Cape Community College will hold an information session about its new Utility Line Locate Technician training, 10 a.m., Mon., Sept. 19. Training begins Oct. 10.
The Utility Line Locate Technician is a comprehensive 70-hour course that includes classroom and field training. Topics include:
· Inspection of Pipes
· Location Markings
· Accident Awareness and Prevention
· Reading Pipeline Drawings
· Using Locator Equipment
· Introduction to Word/Resume Writing
Upon completion of the course, students will be prepared to take the Utility Damage Prevention Operator Qualification Exam. There are jobs available locally for those who pass the exam.
