We are the Hy Riders 4-H Club! We are an equine 4-H club with nine active members and two 4-H leaders. We hold our 4-H meetings in Petersburg every month. Kate Mihal is Club President, Madalyn Sudol is Vice President, Caitlyn Martindale is Secretary and Ashlee Cox is Treasurer. The other members in our club are Caitlyn Schaffer, Ethan Hartley, James Papperman, Ava Mimms and Angelina Pettit. Our club 4-H leaders are Brooke Schaffer and Nicole Martindale.
Every year our club sets goals of fundraisers, activities and field trips they would like to take. The 2017-2018 year: In December, our club participated in the Middle Township Christmas Parade with a float entered in the theme of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.” We also celebrated Christmas at our December meeting with Christmas gift exchanges for our members. Our club planned our first fundraiser of the year in November to do a roadside cleanup, and we also volunteered and fundraised at a local running marathon called the MudHen Half Marathon on the Wildwoods Boardwalk in late April. The club set a goal of raising enough money to be able to take a field trip to the Cowtown Rodeo in June 2018 with the money they fundraised all year long. Also, they fundraised to be able to get matching club shirts to wear in the 4-H parade at the 2018 4-H Fair. Our 4-H members are excited to be able to all participate in the 2018 4-H Fair in July with their equine projects!
