The Holiday Wreath Workshop is returning to the Nature Center. Looking for inexpensive yet beautiful ways to decorate your home this season? The Nature Center of Cape May has the answer in its upcoming Holiday Wreath and Garland Workshops.
Learn how to make your home or business more festive and fragrant in these classes, offered Dec. 1 and Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon and Dec. 2 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The evening workshop is a special family Wreath Workshop night, where an adult and child are invited to participate for the price of one.
Experienced workshop instructors teach participants how to create unique, handcrafted wreaths or garland using simple, step-by-step instructions and all natural materials, including fragrant Douglas fir, spruce, pine, cedar, holly, and Scotch Broom.
Hot-spiced cider, baked goodies, and soothing sounds of the season add the final touches to a rewarding holiday experience. The workshops are ideal for an outing with friends or family.
All materials will be provided, however, participants are invited to bring along special decorations. Participants are asked to bring wire cutters and/or pruning shears if possible, as the nature center’s supply is limited.
Fee is $20 per person, or $16 for New Jersey Audubon members. Those interested in attending are advised to call right away to register. Participation is limited, and the workshops fill quickly.
Call the nature center now at 609-898-8848 to reserve your spot. All workshops take place at the Nature Center, 1600 Delaware Ave.
The center is looking for donations of fresh evergreen cuttings to supply the workshops. All varieties are needed, especially Douglas fir, spruce, pine, cedar, and holly.
Call 898-8848 and speak with any staff member to make arrangements for your donation.
Those who drop off their greenery cuttings will receive a 20 percent discount coupon good for any one item in the gift shop.
