COURT HOUSE – Do you strain to hear when someone is speaking? Do you often ask family and friends to repeat themselves? Do you have difficulty hearing on the telephone? If so, you are not alone, approximately 36 million American adults have reported some degree of hearing loss.
The South Jersey Hard of Hearing Support Group was created and is designed to bring together the people of the community who are hard of hearing. Members share strategies and tips for coping with a hearing loss. Guest speakers share information on assistive listening devices, such as, captioned telephones and headphones for the television where the user can control their own volume.
The next monthly meeting will be held on Wed., April 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Maruchi Room at Cape Regional Medical Center. Vicki Joy Sullivan, Program Coordinator & Support Services Specialist Career Success Solutions for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, The Business & Career Development Center Burlington County College, will present coping tips and strategies in public settings. Admission is free. No registration required.
