COURT HOUSE – Rutgers Cooperative Extension Family and Community Health Sciences (FCHS) Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group will meet on Wed., April 18, 2018 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County, 355 Courthouse-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey. The building is handicap accessible.
The group will hear from Temerity Berry, Director of Prevention Services, Cape Assist on what children need to succeed. Berry’s talk will focus on providing grandparents with proven and practical ways to raise good, well-rounded kids. Berry said, “Asset Building is an easy way any guardian can impact the children in their life. Research has proven that the more “Assets” a child has the less likely they are to engage in risky behavior such as drugs, alcohol and violence and be less likely to have feelings of depression and maintain overall good health.”
Childcare will be provided for the grandchildren. A light supper will be served at 5:30p.m. and the program will follow at 6 p.m. There is no charge for this program, however, advanced registration is required. Please call Marian by April 12 at (609) 465-5115, ext. 3609 for more information or to register for the program.
The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group meets monthly, except for the months of June and July when there are no scheduled meetings. Support for this program is provided by the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Cape May County Division of Aging and Disability Services, and Rutgers Cooperative Extension.
Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County educational programs are offered to all without regard to race, religion, color, age, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
Cape May – I am enjoying the meltdown from so many Leftists on president elect Trumps picks for his cabinet and their stating that he is bringing on people with zero experience in government. Yes, you nailed it…
