Golf tournament to benefit Children’s Fresh Air Home

By On Deck Staff

The 4th Annual Dickie Doo Golf Tournament will be held June 6 at the Avalon Country Club.
Hosted by Westy’s Irish Pub in Wildwood, this event benefits the Children’s Fresh Air Home in North Wildwood.
Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. shotgun start.
Sponsorships are available and foursomes welcome.
Prizes will be awarded for: longest drive, closest to the pin, winning team, and hole-in-one.
The $125 entry fee includes greens fee, cart, gift bag, food, beverage on the course, and the buffet dinner and open bar at Westy’s Irish Pub, 101 East Walnut Ave., North Wildwood following the tournament.
The Children’s Fresh Air Home is a faith-based non-profit organization providing an enriching summer experience at the Jersey Shore in a safe, positive environment for children who may be living with adversities.
For 110 continuous years the Children’s Fresh Air Home has provided a unique summer respite for deserving children from South Jersey communities.
The home provides a 12-day program for children ages 7 to 11. It is supported through the contributions of churches, civic organizations, businesses, and individuals, making it possible for each child to enjoy a summer retreat at no cost to their families.
Unfortunately, nearly a century of wear and tear in a seashore environment has taken its toll on the physical structure of the home.
The Century Campaign is a capital campaign launched to renovate and expand the current structure. See freshairhome.org for more information about this endeavor.
