Three leading Scout supporters have been selected as the 2016 Distinguished Citizens to be honored. Mayor Martin L. Pagliughi, Borough of Avalon, Lynda A. Pagliughi, First Lady of Avalon and James Bennet, President of Bennett Enterprises of Sea Isle City are this year’s honorees for the Distinguished Citizens of the Year Award for the Cape May County section of BaySea District of the Garden State Council, Boy Scouts of America.
Each year, the “Good Scout” Statue is presented to community leaders who exemplify the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America as expressed in the Scout Law and Oath. Mayor Martin L. Pagliughi, Lynda A. Pagliughi and James Bennett have been selected as this year’s honorees for outstanding service to the community as evidenced by the dedication, interest and leadership they have provided to many worthwhile organizations and the respect and esteem in which they are regarded by their family, friends, colleagues and neighbors throughout Cape May County.

She will recognize the honorees for their tremendous dedication to their community and support of the Boy Scouts of America throughout Cape May County, especially the many hours of community service put in each year, as is evident in the completed Eagle Scout Projects and Scouting activities during the year.
