WILDWOOD – The Prevention Partnership collaborated with the county Health Department April 25 with a Family Fun Walk as an added support to bring awareness on child health issues as they are related to preventing child abuse and neglect.
The walk on the boardwalk helped raise funds for the partnership, according to Christa Weis, co-chair of the partnership, based in Rio Grande.
The partnership brought awareness to the community on how to strengthen families which results in keeping children healthy. Making parents and caregivers of children aware of the importance of the protective factors in their lives and how to access the resources for that protection is the goal of this years coordinated event.
This was a big deal for the Prevention Partnership. It worked for two years to bring awareness to preventing child abuse and neglect and the health fair was an opportunity to help strengthen children and families and a huge step forward in understanding that child abuse and neglect is a health issue that is worthy of attention in Cape May County.
