CAPE MAY – Are you an aspiring nature photographer? Or do you want to become one? Then bring your camera for a leisurely walk at 10 a.m. March 22, starting at the headquarters of the Cape May National Wildlife Refuge, 24 Kimbles Beach Road, Cape May Court House. Sponsored by the Friends of Cape May NWR, the walk will explore the woods, fields and vernal ponds of the nearby Songbird Trail (1 mile) for early signs of spring, which may include resident songbirds, amphibians, and flowering plants. Also, if there is time, we will take a walk down to Kimbles Beach to check for early season migrants. Leaders for this walk will be Joe Alvarez and Chris Borkowski.
This program is free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required. These trails are well-maintained and easy to walk but may be wet in spots. Dress for the weather; heavy rain or snow will cancel the event. For more information or directions, call 609-513-9349.
