EGG HARBOR — The Community FoodBank of New Jersey/Southern Branch is looking for regular volunteers with a commitment to helping others.
Areas of primary need are the new thrift shop, community events outside the FoodBank, and pantry workers. We are looking for dedicated volunteers we can count on to work a regular schedule in these areas.
The thrift shop, called Kathleen’s Closet is located at the Shore Mall, and the pantry is located at the FoodBank at 6735 Black Horse Pike, EHT.
“Volunteers play a critical role in helping us in our mission of fighting hunger and poverty,” said Margie Barham, executive director of the Southern Branch of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
The FoodBank’s pantry packages and distributes food to those in need in the Egg Harbor Township area.
Volunteers are needed to serve the ever-increasing demand in this area. Additionally, the FoodBank has two new programs where regular volunteers are needed.
Kathleen’s Closet, a thrift shop that provides a source of funds; and Community Outreach Ambassadors who take the message of the FoodBank and its services on the road with informational displays at community events.
Those interested in volunteering at the FoodBank call Eric Martin, volunteer coordinator at 609-383-8843, or email EMartin@NJFoodBank.org
