First Harborside Chat to Feature the Galapagos Islands

By Sponsored Content

CAPE MAY – The Nature Center of Cape May is pleased to welcome Megan Crewe as the popular Harborside Chats resume, 6:00 p.m. Sept. 23. “Las Islas Encantada” (The Enchanted Islands) was the name given to the magical Galapagos Islands during the days of sail due to the unpredictable currents of the archipelago and the legendary tameness of the native wildlife. Megan will allow her photography to tell the story of these storied isles. As a tour leader with the birding tour company, Field Guides, Inc she not only has the images, but the background to bring this riveting presentation to New Jersey Audubon’s Nature Center of Cape May. Harborside Chats are free, although a $5 donation will be accepted with the proceeds going toward upgrading the Todd Education Center. Refreshments will be served.
About the venue: Harborside Chats are held in the Charlotte Todd Education Hall, 1600 Delaware Avenue in Cape May. One of five structures that make up the Nature Center campus, the Education Hall is perched on the rim of Cape May Harbor and provides a ringside view of Cape May Harbor. Share the magic as fishing vessels ply to and fro in this most unique Harbor.
Our next speaker Sept. 30 will be Dick Walton. Dick will address one of the great mysteries of the natural world with his presentation about the Monarch Butterfly and specifically address the threatened existence of this most unique of creatures.
