Fiocchi Encourages Families to Visit NJ’s Majestic Lighthouses

By Press Release

CAPE MAY – Lighthouses were erected to help keep ships off the rocks, but Assemblyman Sam Fiocchi says the historical maritime beacons provide a guiding light attracting visitors to coastal South Jersey this weekend.
The annual Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey, Oct. 17 and 18, is an opportunity for people to tour the state and explore 14 nautical treasures, including 11 lighthouses.
Three lighthouses – Cape May, Hereford’s Inlet, and East Point – and life-saving stations in Ocean City (U.S. Life Saving Station 30) and Stone Harbor (Tatham Life Saving Station) are located within Fiocch’s Legislative District #1.
Every lighthouse in New Jersey is on the tour, which helps fund continued preservation of the treasured landmarks. For hours and more information about the Lighthouse Challenge, visit www.lighthousechallengenj.org
