The facility offers covered wharves open to the picturesque riverfront, restored historic buildings with an ambiance of times gone by, and a glimpse into one of New Jersey’s last remaining working waterfronts, and includes an art gallery, giftshop and museum exhibits related to the area’s maritime history. The sheds were at the heart of the Delaware Bay Oyster industry during the first half of the last century. The facility also serves as the home port of New Jersey’s Tall Ship, the schooner A.J. MEERWALD.
Each Second Friday event includes a gallery exhibit, entertainment and a hands-on activity, all related to a seasonal or regional theme. Attendees can also enjoy local seafood, Jersey brewed beer and wine, fresh baked goods and traditional fare incorporating local produce in the Cafe. Admission is free and all ages are welcome.
