Historic Cold Spring Village’s ‘Family Fun Weekend,’ will be held July 25-26 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
There will be a variety of creative activities for kids and parents, including an afternoon touch tank from the Wetlands Institute, face painting, and even a toy train ride.
In addition, the Carlisle School of Glass Art will be demonstrating glassblowing and lampworking, while the Philadelphia Handmade Paper Company will provide hands-on papermaking demonstrations.
At 2 p.m., children’s games, including potato sack races, will be held at the Village Gazebo.
On Saturday, guests can visit with the Jersey Shore Alpacas and browse the authentic fiber wares available for purchase.
The Family Activity Area will feature children’s dress-up clothes, games, activities and crafts.
Visitors will also receive a special tasting of Village preserves in the Country Store, which offers a selection of handmade artisan wares, heritage toys, books, collectibles, jewelry and more.
Fun and educational activities for children are featured Tuesday through Friday until August 30.
Historic Cold Spring Village is a non-profit, open air living history museum that portrays the daily life of a rural South Jersey community of the Early American period.
It features 26 restored historic structures on a wooded 22-acre site. Interpreters and artisans in period clothing preserve the trades, crafts and heritage of “the age of homespun.”
Historic Cold Spring Village is located on Route 9, three miles north of Victorian Cape May and a mile and a half west of the southern terminus of the Garden State Parkway.
