COURT HOUSE – A Family Reunification Day celebration was held in Cape May Court House on July 25. The celebration recognized and acknowledged families that achieved reunification with their children and the people in the child welfare system that helped to make reunification a reality. It was a day filled with joy and excitement for everyone involved in the process.
The event was sponsored by the Superior Court of New Jersey, the Division of Child Protection and Permanency and Court Appointed Special Advocates. Assignment Judge, Julio L. Mendez, stated, “Family Reunification takes hard work and commitment on the part of the parents, service providers and the Child Protection Agency. We want to highlight the importance of Family Reunification which provides each child with safety, stability and love.”
As part of the celebration, the Superior Court of New Jersey recognized several “Reunification Heros”, people who have made a difference working with families and guiding them toward reunification.
